Bees supposedly get lost, as a result of ‘disorientation’, among other things. In addition, the bees supposedly have a reduced ability to navigate and to learn. However, it has never been made clear exactly what this ‘disorientation’ actually entails. It is said that these neurological effects are the result of exposure to neonicotinoids. Statements of this kind are made based on the fact that these substances are known to have neurotoxic effects. The neurological effects have not been observed as such in the field.
